The recreational department also has opportunities for adults with basketball and baseball legs at the Felker community center and Meridian community in nearby Loganville. There are also senior fitness programs and activities for folks of all ages.
Monroe housing market
The median home price is about $126,000, one of the most affordable in the area. There are a few residential neighborhoods surrounding downtown but many more communities in the outlying areas of Walton County.
Monroe has several events and activities throughout the year including the Monroe farmers market open every Sunday through Wednesday at 3 PM. For those starting new businesses and Monroe, the city of Monroe and Downtown Development Authority have created a downtown stabilization fund to award grants of up to $2500 for businesses within the DDA boundaries.
